A video co-produced by the MEET YOUR BEAUTY campaign, which helps adolescents develop a healthy perception of beauty, and the YouTube channel ODG has been released!
The video begins by asking 12 young people whether they often use social media.
Most of them say that they see celebrities such as K-pop idols and actors on social media,
and talk about how much they admire and envy their appearance.
“Who is the most beautiful person you’ve seen on social media?”
A long list of names follows.
They are then asked whether they would trade appearances with that celebrity for just one day,
and they all answer “YES!” without hesitation.
A little later, they are asked, “Then would you trade appearances with them not just for a day, but for the rest of your life?”
How did they respond?
“I like my dimples.”
“I like the human side of myself that makes mistakes while trying to be perfect.”
“I think I am precious because all of my strengths come together to make me who I am.”
In the video, the young people express their unique strengths and discover the beauty of being themselves. Their responses show that, ultimately, the most beautiful person in the world is “myself.” MEET YOUR BEAUTY supports adolescents in discovering the beauty of being themselves, free from standardized beauty ideals!
