Amorepacific is launching a research project on “Inner Beauty in Adolescents” in partnership with the Institute of Population and Human Capital at Yonsei University. Amorepacific will donate a total of KRW 1 billion to Yonsei University, of which KRW 500 million will support this research. The findings will be used to measure the impact of and further enhance Meet Your Beauty, Amorepacific’s CSR campaign for future generations.
Amorepacific signed the donation agreement on August 19 at the Vision Declaration Ceremony for the Campaign to Reform Korea’s Social Structure, held at the guest house of the Yonsei University President’s Residence. The ceremony was attended by key representatives, including Suh Kyung-bae, Chairman of Amorepacific; Dong-Sup Yoon, President of Yonsei University; and Hyun-Chul Kim, Director of the Institute of Population and Human Capital. The donation will provide KRW 500 million each for research on inner beauty in adolescents and research addressing changes in Korea’s social structure.
The joint research on inner beauty in adolescents was initiated in response to the reality that adolescents in the AI-driven digital and social media environment are frequently exposed to appearance-based comparisons and standardized ideals of beauty. The research team will define “inner beauty” not simply as an individual’s internal values, but more specifically as “relational agency”—the capacity to create a positive impact through relationships with others. Based on this concept, the team plans to develop the Korean Inner Beauty Index (IBI) to measure inner beauty.
Amorepacific will also support research led by the Institute of Population and Human Capital at Yonsei University to address changes in Korea’s social structure. The research will examine social challenges arising from the AI transformation and demographic change, while exploring pathways toward sustainable social development. The donation will be used to establish a research platform, including the recruitment of expert researchers and the organization of policy conferences.
“The healthy development of future generations is an important issue that we must address together to ensure the sustainable development of our society,” said Suh Kyung-bae, Chairman of Amorepacific. “We hope this collaboration will help adolescents discover their inner beauty and grow into independent and engaged members of society.” He added, “Guided by our mission to make people and the world more beautiful, Amorepacific will continue to support the growth of future generations.”
Meanwhile, Meet Your Beauty is Amorepacific’s CSR campaign launched in 2024 to help future generations move beyond standardized ideals of beauty, discover their own unique beauty, and grow with a strong sense of agency. Through a range of programs—including beauty awareness education, career mentoring, and creator development—the campaign supports future generations in building a strong inner foundation and expanding both their potential and positive impact on society.
