Amorepacific has earned the highest rating, being placed on the ‘A List,’ in both the Climate Change and Water Security categories from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), a global ESG impact assessment non-profit. With this achievement\u2014marking four consecutive years in the Climate Change sector and two consecutive years in Water Security\u2014Amorepacific has firmly established its global leadership in ESG management. <\/strong><\/p>

<\/p>

CDP is a global initiative driven by financial investment institutions worldwide, assessing corporate responses to climate and water-related risks, as well as reduction targets and leadership. Approximately 23,000 companies participate annually, with only the top 2% making the prestigious ‘A List.’ <\/p>

<\/p>

In the Climate Change category, Amorepacific was recognized for its proactive pursuit of Net Zero goals grounded in the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) 1.5\u00b0C objective, alongside its commitment to RE100 and the accelerated transition to renewable energy. In the Water Security category, the company received high marks for its comprehensive monitoring system spanning water intake to discharge across all sites, the minimization of water pollution through automated wastewater treatment processes, and the utilization of circular water resources via wastewater recycling at the Amore Beauty Park Osan. <\/p>

<\/p>

Amorepacific is currently pursuing a goal to achieve Net Zero by 2050, reducing Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 90% compared to 2020 levels. To this end, the company increased its renewable electricity usage to 70% in 2024 and aims to achieve RE100 by 2025. <\/p>

Regarding Scope 3 (other indirect emissions), the company plans to \u25b2 reduce emissions from purchased goods and services and \u25b2 end-of-life treatment of sold products\u2014which account for the largest share of its carbon footprint\u2014by 25% by 2030 and 90% by 2050, compared to 2020 levels. To achieve this, Amorepacific is reinforcing its Scope 3 management system to drive greenhouse gas reductions across the entire supply chain. The company is supporting key suppliers in building Scope 1 and 2 inventories to secure their capacity for calculating and managing emissions. Furthermore, Amorepacific plans to support suppliers willing to reduce emissions by aiding their transition to eco-friendly facilities, ensuring actual reductions take place. This initiative serves as a core strategy for achieving the SBTi 1.5\u00b0C target, aiming to realize Scope 3 reductions throughout the entire supply chain. <\/p>

<\/p>

For water resource management, Amorepacific has established an internal system to regularly manage key data\u2014such as intake, discharge, reused water, and consumption\u2014centered on the organizational boundaries of each business site. The company is continuously upgrading this management framework by linking pollutant measurement data with information on water-stressed regions. The Amore Beauty Park Osan has introduced automated wastewater treatment processes to minimize quality deviations in treated water. Additionally, wastewater previously discharged to the Osan municipal sewage treatment plant is now recycled and supplied to landscape an area of approximately 82,500 square meters, effectively realizing a circular water resource system. Through these activities, Amorepacific continues to make sustained environmental investments to increase water recycling rates and contribute to resolving water scarcity issues. <\/p>
